This song was written for me and consequently, every human person longing to be heard and to hear more clearly. This song speaks the vocabulary of the human heart. It is in gratefulness of heart that our nation can remain strong and connected to each other as citizens. It is this spirit of thankfulness that calls people from different races, religions, creeds and beliefs to greater understanding and respect for each other and our differences. Thank You was written to remind us of our duty and obligation to be people of thanksgiving and not of entitlement. With so many negative voices dominating and separating us through fear and anger, Thank You is a call to all of good will to wake up with a heart of gratitude for our blessings. The blessing of a stable home or a one parent home. The blessings of family, faith, freedom, property, hard work sacrifice and opportunity. These are the very blessings we enjoy and so quickly take for granted after morning coffee is finished and the struggles begin. Thank You is the song of the Jew, the Hindu, the Muslim, the Christian, the New Ager, and the Agnostic. It can provide common ground between the teacher and the student, the conservative and the liberal, the elected official, the business owner, the jobless man and the newscaster. But it takes courage to speak these words and even more to believe and live them as we struggle through the trials of the day. Thank you is my song that I offer to my kids. May it be yours and your families and our nations once again.
